A different way of getting to Les Glénan: set sail!
Rather than speeding to the islands on a motorboat, we’re offering you another experience:
- A sailing trip from Concarneau
- A silent catamaran, with no engine when sailing
- A smaller group, for a calm and friendly atmosphere
- And sometimes, an encounter with Randy, the local dolphin…
Our sailing shuttle Samantha takes a little longer… Barely 15 minutes! But that’s exactly the idea.
Why choose this alternative route to the Glénan islands?
- Less impact: no engine during the crossing = less CO2 emissions, less noise for marine life
- More fun: feel the wind, take part in the manoeuvres, see the islands slowly approaching
- A real adventure for families and friends
- A different idea of tourism: slower, more respectful, more human
A day in Les Glénan, in harmony with nature
What to do in the Glénan archipelago?
- Swimming and diving in crystal-clear turquoise waters
- Stroll around Saint-Nicolas: a signposted path winds its way through dunes, beaches and viewpoints. Depending on the tides, you can even walk to the neighbouring island!
- Observe the fauna and seabirds… without disturbing anything: terns, gulls, oystercatchers, etc.
And when it’s time to head back, you can take it easy out on the open sea. The wind will decide the pace. And that’s just fine.
The Glénan alternative exists. It’s already floating. Every week, our catamaran Samantha sets sail from Concarneau. On board are travellers who want to see the Glénan in a different way. Maybe soon you will too?
